Grandpa Mac's 86th Bday

We headed down to Green Valley on Friday, Aug 12th to spend the day with Great-Grandma & Great-Grandpa Mac (a.k.a Big Mama & Big Papa). The 11th was Big Papa's 86th Birthday, so we celebrated that as well. It was a great day!

We also celebrated Eli's Birthday... that is in November...

Grandma Sundsmo "Gram"

Nick's Grandma Sundsmo (Eli's Great-Grandmother) "Gram" passed away today after a long battle with Cancer. I am so thankful to have had the pleasure of getting to know Grandma Sundsmo.

When Nick and I lived in our apartment and Gram was still living in her house, Nick would go over to help with snow removal whenever he could. One time after he had finished cleaning up the snow for Gram, in his blue jeans, he walked into the house and Gram noticed his pants were soaking wet. This tiny little lady got Nick to take off his pants so that she could put them into the dryer for him. He hung out with his Gram, in his undies, until his pants dried. Oh, what a sight that would have been!

Gram was know for her cookies and while I do not bake cookies very often, I will always remember her tips for a successful batch of cookies! 1. Make the dough a day ahead of time and place in the fridge over night. 2. Put the cookie sheet in the freezer before using. 3. Use parchment paper.

Gram was a huge fan of the Vikings. She would watch every game and even take notes as she watched. She had years of notes books filled with details of every game!

Rest in peace Gram. You will be dearly missed!

Nice and Clean

Eli and I were sitting in the kitchen eating breakfast while Nick was taking a shower this morning. After Nick was finished he walked into the kitchen, when Eli said, “Daddy, did you wash your belly button? Your nipples? Your toes?”

A kiss is just a kiss...

...Well, not in there pictures....

I just love this picture of these two young love birds smoochin' in the middle of a RIOT in VanCouver. Cars are burning, people are going crazy... and these two are just in their own little world... so romantic!

It reminded me of this picture I use to have hanging in my first apartment... well, minus the burning cars and Canadians angry about losing a hockey game...
