Happy Memorial Day!
"This weekend, folks across the country are opening up the pool, firing up the grill, and taking a well-earned moment to relax. But Memorial Day is more than a three-day weekend. In town squares and national cemeteries, in public services and moments of quiet reflection, we will honor those who loved their country enough to sacrifice their own lives for it.
...
"Even as we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we reaffirm our commitment to care for those who served alongside them--the veterans who came home. This includes our newest generation of veterans, from Iraq and Afghanistan.
...
"But on Memorial Day, we come together as Americans to let these families and veterans know that they are not alone. We give thanks for those who sacrificed everything so that we could be free. And we commit ourselves to upholding the ideals for which so many patriots have fought and died."
-President Barack Obama

Eli Says...
The other day Eli, Ruby and I were out for a walk. We saw two teenage girls getting out of a car and walking into their house. They were wearing their bikinis when Eli said, "Mama, why they no have clothes on?" Whew! They didn't hear him!
Then a little further down our walk is another teenage girl wearing some hot pants. I think my undies are bigger than the short she was wearing! (Just kidding!!!) As we get closer to her, Eli says to me, "Mama, why she no have pants on?" Oh, Lord!! This young lady heard him and I simply replied, "Those are called shorts, honey."
Across the street, they have started construction on a new home. There were some guys over there the other day working when Eli said to me, "Mama, I need to go talk to dose guyz. They need to paint da house blue." Not sure why he wanted the house blue, probably because the house that use to be there was blue. But a couple days later he told me he wants them to paint the house green... because green is Eli's favorite color.

Ruby + Miles = B.F.F.
Our back door neighbors, Gerry and Beth, just got a German Shorthair named Miles... Ruby and Miles LOVE to chase each other around our back yards! And we love the workout they get from playing together!
Today after our 2 mile walk, I let Ruby off her leash to run around in our back yard... she ran right to Gerry & Beth's back door where Miles was looking out. Kind of like a little kid running over to see if her friends could play. I guess Miles runs over to our yard as well looking for Ruby... how absolutely adorable is that?!
Oh, and Miles is 8 weeks old... Ruby is 8 mths old! He will probably triple her in size!

Silly family!
Eli is having one of those days where he just wants to stay at home and play. When you are a working parent, it breaks your heart that you have to dump them off at school to tough it out... But Nick handled it like the wonderful Daddy that he is....

| Nick sent Eli's teacher Dana this silly picture of himself at work to show Eli. |

| Eli replied (via Teacher Dana's phone) with this picture. |

Eli says....
This weekend Eli and I stayed at my parents Saturday night while Nick was at a Bachelor party. While at my parents, Eli was playing with this foam cow that was in my parents toy basket. For whatever reason, Eli bit the head off the foam cow (and of course, spit it out). My mom asked him, "Eli, why did you bit the cow's head off?" Eli responded, "I don't like cows." Well, alrighty then, Eli.
Sunday morning (Mother's Day), Eli is taking a shower at my parents and my mom is soaping him up. Eli wasn't standing directly under the water to rinse off, so my mom said, "Eli, you need to get in the shower." She meant get under the water to rinse off. Eli responded to her, "I M in the shower." Duh, Nana! We all just about died of laughter!
On our way home in the car, I thought Eli would fall asleep like he normall does on our drive. But instead, he talked! The whole way! At one point he said to me, "Mama, look! A Giant! ...just kidding!" Oh, that boy is funny!

My purse...My life!
Welcome to your life, Randi Sundsmo! Where your once perfectly organized purse now contains a small person’s dirty socks (don’t ask), a baseball hat, sucker wrappers, sucker sticks, etc. 10-years ago I would have been disgusted at such a find… but today it makes me laugh!
