This morning we had breakfast with Nick's mom and step-dad. After breakfast Eli went off with "Gran & Papa" to hang out for the rest of the day. It was a nice chance for Nick and I to get a ton of stuff done... well, we got a couple things done. AND, Eli got some special time with his Grandparents.

Whitney Houston

R.I.P. Whitney Houston. Your lovely voice is a dear part of my childhood... dancing around in my room and pretending I had half the talent that you did.

My sister had this same hairstyle when she was little, and we would call her "Whitney".

Last night I was watching E! and there was a special about the final days of Whitney's life. I only caught the last 10 minutes of it, but someone questioned if Whitney will be remembered for her beautiful voice or her downward spiral in the final years of her life. As humans, we all know that nobody is perfect and we all make our mistakes in life. For some the mistakes are early on, for others they are in the middle or at the end of their lives. So, who are we to create a legacy for her based on her mistakes when we all make mistakes? Let's celebrate her talent and the beautiful person she was.
