Week 17

Hola! Things continue to go well... I am noticing the baby's movements more and more. They are very subtle and random, but it is very clear to me that it is the little one doing somersaults, etc. We read that between 16-20 weeks you can start to hear to baby's heartbeat with a stethoscope....so I bought one at the pharmacy...Score! We spent an evening searching for the little one...but heard nothing but my stomach roaring! My co-worker mentioned that she tried to listen as well when she was pregnant, but was never able to hear anything.... We get to listen to it once a month at the doctor.... which is such a treat! This weekend will include more home & gardening projects. I will try to get some pictures posted of all our home and gardening projects.... until then...Adios!

Mover and a Shaker

I just had my 4-month appointment this afternoon and I did get to hear the heartbeat again! Nick was unable to get away from work, so I tried to record the heartbeat with my phone...and it worked beautifully! The doctor mentioned that the baby is quite a mover as it was difficult to catch it...but we got it! We only got it for a few seconds before Baby Suds was off to do a somersault or something! (I read that they can do somersaults now!) Craziness!

Week 16

Welcome to the Week 16/4th-month update! Holy smokes! Only 5 months to go! This last week I started to "feel" pregnant....or more like I am packing in a bunch of "stuff" into a small space.... We have our 3rd appointment on Monday. I think it will basically be a check up...I do hope we get to hear the baby's heartbeat again! When we heard it the first time, it took over 10 minutes to find it... and when we finally heard it I just busted into giggles! It just blew me away! I couldn't believe that sound was coming from our baby! This weekend I will be working away painting and hopefully some gardening.

I should also mention that this weekend marks 6 years since the sparks ignited between Nick and I at Jess and Jeff Dorfsman's wedding. So Happy Anniversary to Jess & Jeff!

BLT, Please!

Prior to being "knocked-up”, I never ate BLTs... They never seemed appetizing to me. Now, I can't get enough of them! The cafeteria at work has a sandwich line and a wrap line...so I can get a BLT either way...and I love both! It was a little rough with the Tomato deal...but that didn't stop me...I just ordered myself a BL.

Week 15

Aloha! Welcome to Week 15's update! I continue to feel awesome! I thank my lucky stars everyday for how smooth things have been going. I drove down to Willmar on Saturday to meet my sister, parents and my Grandma for a birthday lunch in honor of my Grandma. Turns out, my Grandma turned 26 this year.... hmmm? We went to this place in Willmar called "Deidra's" which has the BEST sandwiches! Yum! My sister, Granny, and I went shopping in Willmar for a few hours. Later that afternoon, I went to my friend Brooke's home with many of my girlfriends I grew up with. Brooke grilled us a delicious dinner and we sat around the fire chatting and giggling! I was very impressed with myself as I made it all the way to 11:30 p.m. !!! The next morning I went out for breakfast with my parents. My mom and I then left so she could come up to Minneapolis to visit with Grandpa Donnie. I went to a BBQ at Nick's parents and then on our way to the hospital to visit with Grandpa Donnie....I fell asleep in the car...we decided to visit him after work today. I went home and slept from 6p.m. to 10p.m. I got up, brushed my teeth, washed my face and went back to sleep! I haven't required so much sleep since I was in High School! I had a wonderful time this weekend and got to see many friends and fam! ...until next time...Toodles!

Baby!

It's official! Baby Suds is on it's way.....we are 14 weeks along. I couldn't have a smoother pregnancy at this point. Other than some nausea here and there...I can't complain! We found out about the little one March 14, 2008. I had the day off from work and for some reason decided I should take a pregnancy test.... after 4 positive tests I think I grasped that this was for real! I wanted to call Nick right away and tell him the news, but I also wanted to see his face. I ran to the store and found a onesie that says "My Dada is #1". When Nick finally got home, I handed him a gift bag (which confused him because it wasn't a holiday or birthday). He pulled out the onesie and just laughed. The first thing he said to me was "when can we tell everyone"? We took Nick's parents out for dinner two nights later and broke the news... Nick just couldn't wait! Ok, neither could I! A few nights later, my parents returned from a trip to D.C. We picked them up at the Airport and when we got back to our place...we broke the news. It blows me away imagining that in 6 months we will have a little person with us. I can't wait to meet them, get to know them and watch them grow. We have decided that we will find out the gender (if the baby cooperates) at our 20 week appointment in July. We are both so excited, we can't stand it!
