My littlge guy is just 2 months shy of his 2nd birthday! I can not believe it! It is the best watching him learn and grow. His vocabulary is EXPLODING! Just a couple weeks ago he started saying 2 word sentences and then blew us all away when we were on the phone with my parents and Eli says to my dad, "Papa, I pooped!" For anyone else to say such a thing, it would have been just too much information. But in this case we were so proud of him for saying such a statement!

The Great Minnesota Get Together 2010
We visited the State Fair on Labor Day. It was even more fun this year since Eli has been vigoroualy studying his animals and the sounds they may. It was great to hear him call out there name when he recognized them. I am disappointed in myself as I left my Canon camera at home and just brought my point and shoot camera that died very quickly on us! Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time!
First, we paid a visit to the pigs. Or as Eli calls them, Piiig. Below are the stats for Reggie, Minnesota's largest boar.
Here's Reggie...
Eli says, "Piiiig"!
..and, for the 2nd year in a row, Eli Sundsmo, Minnesota's biggest cutie!
Hands down! The biggest cutie!
Mama and Eli checkin' out a smaller piggy.
Sheep!
Nick's least favorite part of the fair... people!
...and my least favorite part... poo!
Watch out!
Now for the cows! Look at ol' Bessie... what a beauty!
Vacuuming cows? This was something new and interesting to see! Last year it was people spooning cows and this year it is people vacuuming cows!
The vacuuming cows was interesting and all, but we all know what I wanted to see.... But there was no cow spooning in sight.
Zippo!
Zer...oh, wait! What do I see?

She wasn't spooning the cows, but rather, laying on top of two!? I have to admit, it looks comfy!

We LOVE visiting the animals, but we also love a bite of Sweet Martha's cookies!
We had to get Eli the John Deere antlers... they were literally shredded apart after this photo was taken!

Book Club Tuesday - My Friend Leonard
The 2nd book by James Frey that documents what happened after his first book, A Million Little Pieces. Of course, it is much about his friendship with Leonard a mobster who develop a father/son relationship while in rehab. They have a very close and special relationship that is of great benefit to both. Leonard is a strength for Frey as they overcome life after rehab. It's a great read and really completes Frey's story from A Million Little Pieces.

Flashback Friday - Ultrasound Photos!
Two years ago (!???), we had our second (complimentary) ultrasound for Eli. This was after we had the cranky Russian for our first ultrasound... I of course complained and the clinic offered a complimentary/fun ultrasound. They mentioned that they do get alot of complaints about her, but also that she is the best tech handsdown and she catches things/problems that others don't. Of course, they assigned us with a more friendly tech who told us she could tell we had a fun baby... She was our kind of lady!

I think this is his back and some of his profile.

Profile and hand.
