2-months

My sweet little Aiden is 2-months old now. He is such a wonderful baby and addition to our family. He has a smile that melts everyone's heart and he charms the pants off of everyone! He loves hanging out with his brother, loves to talk to his daddy and loves to snuggle with his mama. He has his check-up today and we learned that he is 14 lbs  10.5 oz. (95th percentile). He is 23 inches long (45th percentile). His head also measured on the 95th percent. Big boy!

Eli says...

Eli just asked me if I wanted to go on a date with him. I told him, "Yes, honey. I would love to go on a date with you!"

Eli says - What is that noise??!!

In the wee hours this morning, Eli was woken to a new noise he has never heard before. I walked into the boys room while Eli was asleep to change Aiden's diaper. Aiden was fussing and as I was about to walk out of the room, Eli sat up in bed with a look of confusion on his face and said, "WHAT is that noise?? It's not even morning yet."

Day 3 - Aiden John

Aiden's first night here, he blessed night and I with a good nights sleep. Last night, we were so exhausted, and kept trying to put him to sleep in his bed, but he just wanted to be held my... me. I obviously love that, but was just so tired! We have wonderful nurses helping us and one of our favorites introduced us to swaddling the baby with WARM blankets (fresh out of the dryer). This helped Aiden sleep a bit.

Today we had visitor's from my friend Jess Dorfsman, Nick's Aunt Deb and partner Karen, Big Brother Eli, Auntie "Bonnie" and Danny, Uncle Chris and Cousin Lukey, and Nick's Aunt Carla. So many people so excited to meet our little guy.

Tomorrow we get to go home! It is bittersweet for me because I can't take the amazing nurses home with us but I am excited to get home to Eli. I know he misses Nick and I and even more, is excited for his brother to come home!

Day 2 - Aiden John

After a lovely nights sleep, we spent the day just resting and visiting with our new son. He is eating well and doing everything else very well. We are absolutely in love.

What a wonderful surprise... We were scheduled for a c-section for Friday March 28th, 2014. But Aiden had plans of his own. While out running errands, my water broke (about 10:45 am). Nick asked me to go to the Apple store at the mall. Of course, when I got there I had to use the bathroom. I used the bathroom in Macy's and while in the bathroom I thought I maybe felt something... but no... I washed me hands, walked out of the bathroom and little took a few steps when my water broke. I kept walking, but changed my direction and headed back to my car. I grabbed my phone and call Nick, "I think my water broke. I am heading home." We met at the house and scrambled to get our bags backed and a few other things sorted out before we left.

Our beautiful baby boy, Aiden John, was born at 4:38pm. He came out bright eyed and just looking all around at his new world. Nick held him and we talked to him for a while before we went to the recovery room.

A full head of beautiful brown hair, big hands and feet like his Daddy and big brother.

In the recovery room, I got to hold him for the first time and we started nursing as well.

I can't take my eyes off of him and I couldn't be more thankful for this amazing blessing.
